African champions Ahly say they're sticking with veteran striker Emad Meteb as he is one of their key attacking players
Ahly have not received any offers for veteran striker Emad Meteb and they have no intention of selling him, the club has said.
The 29-year-old attacker was reportedly seeking a departure from Ahly because Egyptian football faces an ambiguous future after a 10-month suspension following the Port Said disaster.
The Pharaohs star has been linked unofficially with moves to a number of Gulf clubs and an unnamed German second division club.
"We haven't received any official offers for Meteb," Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told the club's official website.
"The club is sticking with Meteb because he is one of the key players in our frontline. If we receive any offers the football committee will discuss it with the coaching staff and make the appropriate decision," he added.
Meteb featured as a substitute in Ahly's last match in the recent Club World Cup in Japan where the Red Devils finished fourth.
