Bologna's Taider set to play for Algeria

French-born midfielder is set to play for Algeria in their upcoming clash with Benin in World Cup qualifier




Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic has called up Bologna midfielder Saphir Taider for his squad, which is slated to play against Benin in World Cup qualifiers.

The 21-year-old has played for France's youth team, but has opted to represent Algeria at the senior level.

Taider was a regular on Bologna's squad this season, scoring two goals in 23 Serie A matches.

Second-place Algeria will host Group H leaders Benin on 26 March in a world Cup qualifier.

Algeria currently have three points, only one point behind leaders Benin.
