Famous author, Alaa Al-Aswany, has finally released his newest novel, Nady Alsayarat (The Cars Club), from Shorouk Publishing House. Al-Aswany started writing this novel in 2008 and stopped writing during 2011 when the Egyptian revolution broke out, which he supported and engaged in.
After visiting a famous car club in German and learnt the story of invention of the world’s first car, Al-Aswany decided to put that story in the framework of a novel, exceeding the limits of reality.
Alaa Al-Aswany is best known for his internationally-renowned novelImarat Yaqubian (The Yacoubian Building) 2002. His books have been translated into English, French, Spanish and German among other languages.Al-Aswany is the founding member of theKefaya(Enough) protest movement and was once included in JordanianRoyal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre's list of the top 500most influential Muslims in the world
