Revolutionary youth group says it will file a complaint against interior minister because raid on its office in Zeitoun was executed without a warrant
April 6 Youth Movement has condemned a police raid on its offices in Cairo's Zeitoun district on Tuesday.
The group said police confiscated identification cards from its personnel who were preparing an educational project for local residents, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The raid was made without a warrant, April 6 added, therefore it will submit a complaint with the attorney general against Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim.
On 4 September, Egypt's attorney general instructed the Supreme State Security Prosecution to investigate complaints against April 6 co-founder Ahmed Maher.
Abdel-Aziz Fahmi, general manager of the youth and sports sector in Gharbiya, accused Maher of conspiring against Egypt and acquiring illegal financial support from abroad.
Fahmi asked prosecutors to order the seizure of April 6's offices and headquarters while its finances are investigated.
April 6, which helped spearhead the January 25 Revolution, has been under fierce attack in the media for allegedly supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and conspiring against Egypt.
The former accusation was first made during the last years of the Mubarak era then continued during the rule of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and Mohammed Morsi.
