Tunisia's Club Bizertin qualify for Confederation Cup semis

Bizertin secure a place at the Confederation Cup semis, Stade Malien have to wait for the last match to learn their fate despite beating St George


Club Bizertin have reached the African Confederation Cup semi-final after beating Morocco's FUS Rabat 1-0 in their fifth match of the group stage on Sunday.

A late goal by defender Ali Machani granted the Tunisians a place in the semis regardless of the outcome of their last group game against ES Setif of Algeria.

Bizertin are second in Group B with eight points, two behind leaders TP Mazembe of DR Congo who have already qualified for the last four. FUS Rabat lie third with five points, two ahead of ES Setif.

In Group A, Stade Malien of Mali have defeated Ethiopian side St George 1-0 on Sunday.

Stade Malien are second in the group with seven points, two ahead of third-placed Etoile Sahel as both sides compete for the second semi-final ticket. Leaders Sfaxien of Tunisia are already through.
