Israeli settlers on Monday stabbed a Palestinian man in the West Bank town of Al Khalil (Hebron), leaving him seriously injured, witnesses and Palestinian security services said.

The Palestinian, 32, was attacked by three Israelis near Merom settlement as he passed by on a donkey, suffering injuries mainly to his chest and hands, according to thesame sources.

A series of attacks against Palestinians have been reported in the West Bank since the March 11 murder of five members of an Israeli settler family, including three children, which was instantly blamed on Palestinians and used as an excuse to expand illegal settlements.
