Police at Cairo airport recover collection of historic coins from German passenger


A hoard of 44 historic coins have been confiscated from a German passenger at Cairo airport.

Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim told Ahram Online the coins were Greco-Roman, Islamic and modern.

The most distinguished were made during the reign of Sultan Hussein Kamel, and kings Fouad and Farouk.

The coins will be held while they are being investigated before being sent to a museum.
