Sfaxien Gabonese midfielder Ibrahim Ndong has been ruled out of Thursday's African Super Cup clash against Ahly through injury.

The promising 19-year-old suffered a fractured leg and will be out for at least six weeks, according to Tunisian media reports.

Angry for being substituted against La Palme Sportive de Tozeur in the Tunisian league last Saturday, Ndong kicked an advertising banner on his way out to sustain the injury.

The Tunisian heavyweights arrived in Cairo on Monday for their clash with the African champions on 20 February.

"All the players are aware of the importance of this game. We have to develop our game without pressure. Sfaxien has a big team capable of beating Ahly. We have to confirm that on the pitch," coach Hammadi Daou told reporters before his side's flight heading to Cairo.

Ahly – an eight-time African champions – are suffering a poor run, in which they were beaten by Gouna 1-0 in the Egyptian league on Saturday, slipping to their third defeat of the season in only nine matches.
