A first major assignment on the international stage for the 48-year-old, who has been in charge of Burundi for the last three years and steered them to qualification for the first time. He made his name domestically when he took club side Flambeau de l'Est to a maiden title in 2013, making them the first side from outside the capital Bujumbura to win the league.
He then served as assistant to Algerian Ahcene Ait-Abdelmalek before taking over as coach himself.

A refugee from the tribal violence in Burundi who settled in Britain with his family while still a child, Berahino was on track to play for England until his career went off the rails. Disciplinary issues dogged his time at West Bromwich Albion and in April this year, Stoke City reportedly fired him after a drink-driving conviction.
Berahino switched his international allegiance to the country of his birth last August, scored on his debut and has since been made captain.
