Art Alert: Remembering Nadine Shams at Cairo Opera House

An evening commemorating the life of scriptwriter Nadine Shams, who passed away in March, will take place at the Cairo Opera House on Monday 12 May

On 22 March, Egyptian scriptwriter Nadine Shams died after a routine operation, which her family blame on the doctors.

A special evening dubbed 'In loving memory of Nadine Shams' will be held at the Cairo Opera House on Monday 12 May.

The event, directed by Nasr Abdel-Moneim, will include screenings of a film about Shams, a presentation of her work, performances by singers Maryam Saleh and Fayrouz Karawyah, and ballet performances.

Shams was a graduate of the High Cinema Institute, she wrote Ehna Etkabelna Abl Kida (We've met before), a 2008 film starring Nelly Kareem.

She also worked on the popular television series Moga Harra last Ramadan.
