Ahly's Egyptian international forward Mohamed 'Gedo' Nagy will be sidelined for  up to six months after suffering a serious knee injury during his side's 1-1 draw at Etoile du Sahel in the African Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The 28-year-old was stretchered off 30 minutes into the debut after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his knee.

"Gedo will be sidelined for 6 months as he suffered a rupture of the knee cruciate ligament," read a statement on the club's official website.

Gedo's injury came as a fresh blow for Ahly's interim coach Fathi Mabrouk, a few days after playmaker Abdallah El-Said was ruled out for three months due to a foot injury.
