Ahly's international left-back Sayed Moawad will miss the club's coming clash against Ivory Coast's Sewe Sport due to an injury, the club announced on Monday.

The Cairo giants will be hosted by the Ivorian team on 8 June in the third round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The 35-year old Moawad was doubtful for the match after leaving Sunday's training session due to injury.

"Medical scans revealed that Moawad is suffering from muscular fatigue. He will not be available for the trip to Ivory Coast," Ahly's doctor Khaled Mahmoud was quoted as saying by the club's official site.

Moawad's absence adds woes for Ahly, who are already missing the services of several key players like Emad Meteb, Mohamed Nagy 'Gedo', Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Walid Soliman and Abdallah El-Said –  all out for different injuries.

Champions League holders Ahly are currently at the top of their Confederation Cup Group B on four points, two clear of Tunisia's Etoile.
