رضينا بالهم و الهم موش راضى بينا
Redina bel hamm wel hamm mush radi bina
Translation: We put up with misery but misery didn’t put up with us.
Meaning: This very expressive saying, still in use, is about getting one instance of bad luck, and while you’re trying hard to adjust, it gets even worse. Say a loud neighbor moves in next door, and keeps you up all night with his loud TV. Then one day, you’re in the middle of urgent
renovation work, and that neighbor tells you you’re disturbing him. This is misery not putting up with you.
