Egyptian stocks close down 2 per cent

Egypt's EGX30 stock benchmark closed Wednesday down 2.03 per cent at 5,294 points as the market reacted to news of renewed violence in central Cairo.

Total marker turnover was LE1.01 billion, nearly half of which involved Abu Kir Fertilizers and Chemical Industries.

Highest gainer was Ajwa for Food Industries, up 9.98 per cent.
