الجوع كافر

El gou’ kafer

Translation: Hunger is godless.

Meaning: When people are hungry, all bets are off. They may beg, steal, or worse. You may think that this proverb is used to describe the horrors of famine, but it is actually used more light-heartedly to urge someone to bring you food without delay.
