The detention of former prime minister Atef Ebeid has been extended for another 15 days, pending questioning.
Ebeid is accused of being involved in the selling of a piece of government land to fugitive businessman Hussein Salem for LE8 million ($1,355,000), way below its estimated value of LE208 million ($35,500,000).
The detention of former agriculture minister Youssef Wali, on the same charge, was yesterday extended for a further 15 days.
