The former chairman of the Egyptian TV and Radio Union, Osama El-Sheikh, was on Thursday acquitted of squandering public funds by a court in Cairo.
The court had ordered his release at the last session and put his name on the travel ban list until it issued its final verdict.
El-Sheikh was accused of selling a TV series produced by Egyptian TV to private channels for less than its true price. A technical report written by experts from the cinema institute and drama experts was presented to the court and proved that El-Sheikh did not squander any public funds during his work as the chairman of the Egyptian TV and Radio Union.
