Wafd Party General Secretary Fouad Badrawi has reiterated that his party would not include former NDP figures on its electoral lists.
It was suggested that Wafd would try to bring back into parliament members of the now-defunct National Democratic Party through their party lists.
“We stressed more than once that the decision jointly made by the executive office and the supreme department of the party stipulates that no ex-NDP members would be added to our electoral lists,” Badrawi said.
The NDP, formerly headed by toppled president Hosni Mubarak, used to dominate the parliament during the lengthy tenure of the 83-year-old former leader.
In 2010, parliamentary elections were blatantly rigged to favour the NDP and eliminate opposition groups.
