German soccer federation president Reinhard Grindel says he has no worries about security at the European Championship after defender Jerome Boateng reportedly said he'd feel safer if his family didn't attend games.
Boateng is quoted as telling Sportbild magazine ''my family and my kids won't come to the stadium. The risk is too great for me.''
Boateng referred to attacks in Paris and Brussels by saying ''many things have happened that make you thoughtful. I for one just want to concentrate on the football at the European Championship, and I feel better if my family is not sitting in the stadium.''
Grindel says all possible security measures were being taken and ''up to (Wednesday) morning German security officials have no concrete evidence of a threat against Euro 2016.''
