Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu calls on Palestinians to put aside any preconditions and agree to talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas should agree to talks without preconditions in order to achieve a long-delayed Mideast peace deal.

In remarks made to US television after a call by the Middle East Quartet for a resumption of direct negotiations, Netanyahu said his counsel to Abbas is that "if you want to get to peace, put all your preconditions to the side."
