Egypt stocks slip back into red

Egyptian stocks have slid back into the red, the EGX30 benchmark closing 1.33 per cent down at 4,247 points, partly reversing Monday's gains.

The index gained nearly 2 per cent in the opening hour of trading before making rapid losses.

From around 181 listed stocks, some 140 lost value and around 30 posted gains.
 
All sectors either lost value or remained stagnant with the exception of telecoms.
 
Total market turnover was LE342.2 million, around a sixth higher than the day before.
