Four Syrians were shot dead on Friday as thousands rallied against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad and in support of a newly formed opposition front, activists said.
Three people died from gunshot wounds in Douma, near Damascus, while an elderly man was killed and 25 people wounded in the city of Homs, where security forces opened fire against protesters, the Syrian Observatory for Human rights said.
