Fabregas is unlikely to be considered for Barcelona’s Champions League match against the Czech Republic’s Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday, but could figure in next weekend’s league match at home to Sevilla.
Fabregas picked up the injury in a training session at the beginning of this month.
The former Arsenal midfielder’s recovery is good news for Barcelona after defender Gerard Pique was ruled out for two weeks after injuring his right thigh in the 3-0 win against Racing Santander on Saturday.
Barcelona leads the Spanish league on goal difference ahead of Levante. Real Madrid is a point behind.
