The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has agreed to allow hardcore fans to attend Tunisian League games, set to kick off on 4 November.

Die-hard fans had earlier been banned from attending matches inside the stadiums after a wave of football hooliganism.

FTF officials met Tunisia’s minister of youth and sports on Wednesday to discuss the security measures to be adopted at upcoming matches.

Tunisian football has been largely stagnant since the beginning of January as a result of the popular uprising that ultimately forced former President Zine El-Abidine Ben Ali from power.

Tunisia now hopes to put public life back on track in the wake of the country's first post-Ben Ali elections, held earlier this week.
