Protesters are marching on Syria's embassy in London to demonstrate against the deadly crackdown on the country's uprising which the United Nations estimates has killed about 3,000 people since March

Protest organizers said Syrian human rights activists planned to address crowds Saturday outside the building in central London. In Syria, the country's opposition said Saturday that troops were shelling the restive Baba Amr district of Homs and that raids had been reported around the eastern city of Deir el-Zour.

Demonstrations against Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime have continued since March, with protests erupting every week. Activists last week called for a no-fly zone to be established over Syria to protect civilians.
