Egypt stocks fell in midday trading on Thursday after the market was shaken by the bombing of a gas pipeline that carries Egyptian LNG to Israel and Jordan.
The incident, carried out by unknown perpetrators, was the seventh such attack on the pipeline – which runs across Egypt’s northern Sinai Peninsula – this year.
As a result of the blast, Egypt’s main EGX30 stock index dipped 0.82 per cent to trade at 4,381 points, while daily turnover stood at a below-average level of LE74 million ($12.3 million).
