Egypt's Hossam Hassan (Al-Ahram)
Egyptian Premier League side Masry have extended the contract of coach Hossam Hassan for one year without disclosing financial details, putting an end to the coach departure saga.
Masry chairman Samir Halabia attended the team's training camp in Alexandria to "extend the contracts of the technical staff, headed by Hassan," read a statement on the club's official website.
"I appreciate [the offer to] extend my stay at Masry and I hope to achieve the fan's expectations," Hassan said on the club's website.
Some Egyptian media reports had suggested that Hassan would leave the costal club after the team's dip in form in the Premier League games.
These were compounded by Masry quitting the CAF Confederation Cup from the round of 32 as the coach received offers from Qatari and Emirati teams.
"I am working to provide stability for the team; we will offer the technical staff full financial support to meet the fans expectations," the Masry chairman said.
Masry are aiming to finish the Egyptian Premier League this season in the top four to continue participating in the African tournaments.
The team are fourth in the league table with 43 points after playing 24 games. Egypt's all-time leading scorer Hassan is in his third spell with Masry.
