Egypt and Ahly defender Wael Gomaa has denied reports that he might leave Ahly when the transfer windows re-open next January.
“Right now I'm very happy with Ahly. I'm under contract until 2013, and I want to serve my contract until the end,” the 36-year-old defender told Ahram Sport on Thursday.
Gomaa, who has been a regular starter for the Red Devils since his 2001 move from Ghazl El-Mahala, has reportedly received an offer from a Kuwaiti side.
“It’s up to the technical staff and the board to rule on this offer,” added the international defender, who has featured in more than 100 games for Egypt.
Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, for his part, said it was not the right time to discuss such offers, adding that the club would soon hold a meeting with Gomaa to assess the best move for a player of his calibre.
