Two policemen were killed and 10 were injured in a bombing attack on a police armoured vehicle on Tuesday in North Sinai, security sources told state news agency MENA.
The policemen were conducting a patrol in the southern part of the provincial capital of El-Arish.
Security forces have been battling an Islamist insurgency for several years in North Sinai that has killed hundreds security personnel.
The Islamist militants have also recently launched a number of deadly suicide bombings outside North Sinai, most notably on churches in Cairo, Alexandria, and Tanta.
