Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been passed fit to play against Manchester City on Sunday after returning to his club's training on Wednesday.

The red-hot forward missed Liverpool's Premier League game against Burnley and FA Cup match against Everton due to a groin complaint.

Liverpool said on their official website that Salah and Daniel Sturridge returned to training on Wednesday, four days before a crunch meeting against runaway Premier League leaders Man City.

"The pair joined the session at Melwood as preparations begin to step up before the Premier League leaders visit Anfield for a much-anticipated showdown on Sunday afternoon," the club said.

Salah has been a revelation since joining Liverpool from AS Roma last summer for €42 million, scoring 23 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.

The 25-year-old is second in the Premier League top scorers' chart with 17 goals, one behind Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Salah was voted as Africa's best player by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) last week.
