Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp told a press conference on Tuesday that the Reds’ number-one star Mohamed Salah is now back to his form after totally recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in last year’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Klopp pointed out that Salah’s shoulder injury and his short summer break both had an impact on his performances at the start of the new season.
"Since before the last international break it was completely obvious in each session. It clicked again. He’s there. The body is back 100 percent, his physical things he can rely on. Not about the goal scoring, just about overall performance," the 51-year-old coach told reporters.
Klopp stated that his team, alongside Real Madrid, had a longer season than any other team in Europe after which Salah had to play in the World Cup while not being totally fit.
“Mo played a World Cup being 94 percent or 95 percent fit because of the shoulder. He had no problem with the shoulder anymore, it was not that it hurt, but being healthy does not mean you are 100 percent,” the former Borussia Dortmund manager said.
Klopp stressed that he as well as the player himself did not doubt that he would be soon back to his form.
“He was doing everything he can. If you are in doubt easily then it could affect you, but not for one second was he in doubt, and neither was I. Nobody here was in doubt,” he concluded.
The Egyptian winger has scored six goals in his last seven appearances with Liverpool, raising his tally to 9 goals in all competitions, which is more than any other Reds’ player.
