Egypt's Eastern Company saw net profits of LE371 million (US$61.4m) in the second half of 2011, up 31.6 per cent on the same period the year before, the cigarette monopoly announced to the stock exchange on Monday.
The cigarette maker's financial year begins on 1 July.
Eastern Company made net profits of LE253.5 million ($41.97m) between July and December in 2010, its statement to the Bourse added.
