Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly followed up on Thursday on the progress of the construction of Al-Mahmoudiya axis highway in Alexandria governorate.
During his inspection tour of a number of projects in the Mediterranean governorate, Madbouly was briefed about the two-phase construction project by the commander of the Northern Military Zone Khaled Shawqi.
The premier lauded the project, which he said would contribute to reviving domestic tourism via facilitating the movement between the eastern and western parts of the governorate and linking the axis with the agricultural highway, desert highway and the ring roads.
It will also help contain dangerous and unplanned construction, and help establish new housing communities in areas with low population densities, he added.
