The Al‑Ahram Centre for Political and Strategic Studies, headed by Waheed Abdel-Mageed, held on Wednesday a symposium on enhancing Egyptian-African relations with the participation of parliament's African affairs committee.
The symposium involved discussion about African issues and boosting bilateral ties between Egypt and African countries.
Among the members of the African affairs committee who attended the symposium were the head of the committee MP Tarek Radwan, deputy of the committee Maged Abul-Khair, MP Hatem Bashat, and MP Sherine Farraj.
The speakers highlighted the importance of boosting relations with African countries, strengthening the presence of Egypt in these countries through establishing Egyptian cultural institutions, and the need to reactivate the role of existing institutions.
They also discussed prospects for cooperation between the Al-Ahram centre and the parliamentary committee, and they agreed to hold a monthly meeting to follow up on the proposed recommendations and implement them.
