Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have discussed efforts on facing the coronavirus pandemic, as well as regional developments, a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry read.
Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said Shoukry received a phone call from Pompeo in which they presented national efforts by the two states to combat the virus and limit its health and economic impact.
They expressed mutual solidarity during the crisis, Hafez said.
He added that the phone call also included discussions on various aspects of Egyptian-US relations and developments in the region.
