Turkey's annual inflation rate held steady at 10.43 per cent in March, the national statistics office said Tuesday, with alcoholic drinks and tobacco showing the highest increases.
In February, 12-month consumer price inflation also stood at 10.43 per cent.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices posted a rise of 0.41 per cent in March, the Tuik statistics service added.
A breakdown by categories showed that alcohol and tobacco prices shot up by 18.47 per cent over a year, while the cost of goods and services gained 16.53 per cent and household furniture prices were 11.76 per cent higher.
Turkey's central bank forecasts inflation to fall to 5.0 per cent in 2012.
