The Egyptian Premier League title holders, Zamalek are expected to face tough test against Sagrada as they need to claim their first victory in the group stage after the 2-2 draw with Petro Atletico in Cairo last week.
“Once they arrived in Angola all the crew underwent PCR tests within the tournament’s regulation for the COVID-19 before playing the game,” read a statement on Zamalek’s official website.
Zamalek started their mission in Group D of the CAF Champions League with the 2-2 draw with Petro Atletico of Angola in Cairo on Saturday to place in the 3rd place of the group’s ranking with one point, while Wydad Casablanca of Morocco snatched the lead after beating Sagrada 3-0 in the 1st round.
“I am confident of the Zamalek players’ ability to claim the victory over Sagrada,” Zamalek’s board member Gamal Abdel-Hamid was quoted as saying by the club’s official website on Thursday.
Zamalek’s football supervisor Amir Mortada Mansour and Abdel-Hamid held a meeting with the players, asking them to concentrate on the game and fight to snatch the three points of the game against Sagrada on Saturday.
