The Cairo giants find themselves in an unenvious situation in Group D as they lie third with two points after two games in the group stage. They meet Wydad at Stade Mohammed V. in Casablanca.
Zamalek are one point behind second-placed Wydad, while Angola's Petro Atletico lead the group with four points.
"When you be in charge of a big team like Zamalek you have to be patient with the pressure and I hope to stay with the team until winning a big trophy," Carteron, 51, told a press conference on Friday.
"We will deal with the game against Wydad just like a final and we will fight to return to winning ways.
"Wydad is one of the biggest teams in Africa and I expect to face tough mission. The players were prepared well to achieve a positive result," the French boss added.
Zamalek kicked off their group-stage campaign with a 2-2 draw at home against Petro Atletico before being held to a goalless draw away to another Angolan side, Sagrada Esperanca
This significantly complicates their situation going into the next round in Group D.
