The thriller will be having its world premiere in Saudi Arabia on 28 July alongside its first screenings in the UAE. Release in other countries in region will soon follow.
The film — which takes its name from one of Saudi Arabia’s main highways that is considered the world’s longest stretch of straight road — follows Maryam and Nasser, who are set to travel from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi to attend their father’s wedding.
When their flight is cancelled, the siblings decide to take a road trip on Route 10 by car, however, they underestimate the hazards of the desert road and end up in a life-threatening situation.
The film stars Fatima Al-Banawi as Maryam and Baraa Alem as Nasser; they are joined by an equally known Saudi cast.
Naim is a Lebanese filmmaker, best known for his sci-fi drama, The Final Cut, which starred Robin Williams and Mira Sorvino.
Route 10 is produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi and the Saudi-owned MBC Studios.
