The eclipse will begin at 10:58am but will not be visible in Egypt until noon, hitting its peak at 1:09pm, when the moon covers 37.3 percent of the sun, a statement by NRIAG quoted El-Qadi as saying.
The eclipse will be visible in other regions such as the Middle East, Ural islands, Europe, West Asia, West Siberia, and Northeast Africa. It will be most prominent in the West Siberian Plain with the sun obscured by 86 percent.
Solar eclipse is a phenomenon that takes place when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun either partially or totally. It occurs at an average of two to five times a year.
Next week’s eclipse is set to end at around 2:16pm.
