The 37-time champions Ahly will face Pyramids FC in the final on Monday at Cairo International Stadium.
“The Egyptian Football Association has approved Pereira’s request to assign an Egyptian refereeing crew for the game, which is in favor of the Egyptian refereeing system,” the EFA said on its official Facebook account.
From his part, Pereira praised the Egyptian referees saying that they deserve to officiate the major games and have the chance to show their skills,
”We want progress and development in the level of refereeing here, which could help the Egyptian referees to go to major tournaments such as the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.” Vitor Pereira said in a video posted on the EFA Facebook account on Thursday.
"The final is one of the most important games, and I wish everyone success, including the match refereeing staff."
Ahly reached the final after defeating Alexandria-based club, Smouha, 3-1, while Pyramids FC advanced to the final after beating title holders, Zamalek, 4-3 in penalty shootout.
