After a spell of daytime heat, temperatures over the coming week are set to plummet by 5-12 degrees Celsius nationwide.
The mercury in Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt is predicted to reach 34 degrees on Sunday before dropping even further, reaching its lowest point of 22 degrees on Wednesday.
Daytime highs in the North Coast and South Sinai will also take a nosedive from 26-32 degrees on Sunday to 19-27 degrees on Wednesday.
Upper Egypt will see a high of 37 degrees on Sunday before falling on Wednesday to 22 degrees in the northern part and 27 degrees in the southern part.
Cold nights will also persist throughout the weekdays, adding to the chilly conditions.
Additionally, the EMA warns of possible mild to moderate rainfall in various parts of the country, including Lower Egypt, South Sinai and the North Coast, with accompanying thunder.
Dusty winds will also intermittently sweep across Greater Cairo, the North Coast and Lower and Upper Egypt, making for an unpredictable and exciting week ahead.
