Maher had been appointed as Future FC's coach in September 2021, and during his tenure, he helped the newly promoted side reach the Confederation Cup twice.
Additionally, under his guidance, Future FC won the league cup in 2022.
Throughout Maher's time as coach, Future FC played 82 games across all fronts, winning 38, drawing 24, and losing 20 matches.
However, the team ended this season in fourth place with 58 points, a considerable 24 points behind league leaders Ahly.
Reports suggest that Maher is close to taking charge of the Port Said side Masry.
