The 16th Panorama of European Film will be held simultaneously at the Cinema Zawya (downtown Cairo), Zamalek, Point 90 and Arkan cinemas. This will be paralleled with screenings outside Cairo in Jesuit Centres in Alexandria and Minya.
The organizers of the Panorama announced rich programming that will focus on the most notable productions of European cinema, featuring numerous films which have already been screened at major international festivals.
The productions include films from France, Bulgaria, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden, among other countries, many of which have won major international awards.
More than 45 films will be screened within eight sections, including:
- Character Action: Stories driven by characters whose complex inner workings unfold in real time.
- Ruptured Youth: Young individuals encountering the world's trials and tribulations for the first time.
- Visceral Attractions: Deep, unexpected attractions that push protagonists into unusual situations.
- Raw Materials: Afterlives of footage captured by filmmakers in the past and present.
- In/visible World: Worlds made (in)visible by the capitalist colonial machine.
- Politics of Sociality: Shared spaces that bring to life the entanglement of sociality and politics.
- Family: Animated films for children and adults alike
- Aki Kaurismaki Retrospective: A showcase of some of the outstanding works by Finnish director Aki Kawrismaki.

The Panorama of the European Film is an annual event that showcases award-winning feature and documentary productions from across Europe in Cairo.
Launched in 2004, the Panorama has attracted an increasing number of spectators due to the quality and uncensored nature of films, the rich exchanges and debates with international guests.
