Pyramids FC will face the Whites at UAE’s Al Nahyan Stadium in the semi-final of the 22nd edition of the Super Cup.
“Where is the surprise if Pyramids FC defeated Zamalek? Our team has all the capabilities to win,” Saeed told ON Time Sports TV channel.
“There are no big differences between the four teams in the semis, and fans’ advantage still has a significant role,” he added, referring to the popularity of rivals Zamalek and Ahly.
Pyramids FC earned their place in the Super Cup semis as the winners of the Egypt Cup, meanwhile, Zamalek snagged a spot with a wild card entry.
Saeed, who formerly played for Zamalek, believes that winning their first-ever title, the Egypt Cup, places a heavier burden on the team’s shoulders, adding that the only focus is defeating Zamalek.
“After winning the Egypt Cup Pyramids FC would be expected to secure more titles,” Saeed explained.
“We want to defeat Zamalek, and this is our main concern. It is unimportant which team we will face in the final,” he added.
In the other semi-final game, also on Sunday, Egyptian league champions Ahly will face League Cup winners Ceramica Cleopatra.
Pyramids FC is making their third consecutive appearance at the Super Cup. Meanwhile, recent African Super Cup heroes Zamalek are making their 12th appearance after missing last year's edition.
The competition will culminate in the final, and the third-place match on 24 October.
