Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) said Israel's strikes on Beirut's Dahiya district hit a residential building in Haret Hreik near a mosque and a hospital.
The Israeli army claimed it hit a Hezbollah "command centre of intelligence headquarters" and underground weapons facility in Beirut, and that it also killed three Hezbollah militants in other strikes.
In southern Lebanon, NNA said Israeli strikes had targeted dozens of locations, including the city of Nabatiyeh for the third time this week.
It reported five people were killed in Israeli raids targeting houses in the towns of Srifa and Kfardounin.
"Warplanes struck... the city of Nabatiyeh seven times" including on an inhabited building, with rescuers still looking for survivors under the rubble, the agency said.
The city had seen deadly Israeli strikes on Wednesday that killed its mayor, with bloody attacks last week razing its marketplace.
It added that Israeli jets "conducted strikes" on more than 50 towns and villages including the border villages of Kfarshuba, Bint Jbeil and Khiam which have seen heavy fighting, reporting casualties.
"Israeli troops blew up the Tarrash neighbourhood in Mais al-Jabal," a border village where Hezbollah has clashed with Israeli soldiers, "after booby-trapping it with highly explosive materials," the NNA said.
The Israeli troops "bulldozed the cemetery in the village of Blida" nearby, the NNA added.
Also on Sunday, Israel airstrikes struck several south Beirut neighbourhoods, state media said.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it launched rockets at an Israeli army base east of the northern town of Safed.
Hezbollah fighters fired "a big rocket salvo" at an Israeli army base east of Safed, the group said, adding the attack was "in defence of Lebanon" and "in response to the Israeli enemy's attacks on villages and homes".
Earlier, Hezbollah announced that it targeted an Israeli military gathering in the Shlomi settlement with a large barrage of rockets.
They also reported striking Israeli forces gathering in the Ya'ara settlement with another significant rocket barrage.
The Israeli army said in a statement around 70 rockets fired from Lebanon at north Israel triggering sirens in the western and upper Galilee regions.
Some rockets were shot down, while several landed, sparking fires, the army said.
According to Haaretz, fires have erupted in locations in western Galilee due to the falling rockets, and firefighting teams are currently working to extinguish the flames.
