The Egypt–Israel peace treaty was signed in 1979 in Washington by late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat and then-Prime Minister of Israel Menachem Begin, following the 1978 Camp David Accords.
According to sources who spoke to Al Arabiya TV channel on Saturday, Egypt warned Israel against imposing restrictions on the return of Palestinians after receiving medical treatment in Cairo.
The sources further added that Egypt reaffirmed to the team of US President Donald Trump its rejection of any forced displacement from the Gaza Strip.
In addition, Egypt has demanded that Israel provide a clear timeline for allowing heavy equipment to enter Gaza, Al Arabiya said in exclusive remarks.
On Thursday, Israel said it had begun preparations for the departure of large numbers of Palestinians from Gaza in line with Trump's plan for the territory.
However, Trump said Friday that he was in no hurry to advance his shock plan for Gaza, which would see its Palestinian inhabitants moved out and the US take control.
Meanwhile, Cairo reaffirmed its categorical rejection of any proposal or plan to liquidate the Palestinian cause by displacing Palestinians from their land, warning against the consequences of such ideas.
