The partnership was signed during a ceremony in Cairo, which was witnessed by Captain Ahmed Adel, chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, and Selim Bouri, president of SITA for the Middle East and Africa.
Key executives from both sides attended the ceremony, including Engineer Yasser Omran, head of Egyptair's Information Sector, and Houssam Dakroub, director of North & French-speaking Africa at SITA.
Through this collaboration, EgyptAir will implement SITA Connect Go, a next-generation, cloud-native connectivity solution that will significantly boost bandwidth, security, automation, and infrastructure resilience across its operations.
The upgrade is expected to boost the airline’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The initiative will also see the deployment of SITA’s Community Departure Control System (DCS), which will streamline ground handling processes and improve cost efficiency.
This will help the airline reduce dependence on ageing legacy systems while enhancing network visibility and operational reliability.
“This partnership with SITA is a cornerstone of our digital transformation strategy,” said Captain Adel.
“By adopting cutting-edge solutions, we are enhancing our communication systems to support growth in tourism and travel, ensuring operational excellence and a superior passenger experience,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Bouri said EgyptAir’s decision to transform its infrastructure is timely and strategic, especially with increasing passenger demand and growing pressure on airlines to operate more efficiently and sustainably.
“This move equips the airline with the agility and resilience needed to meet future challenges and growth opportunities,” he stressed.
The modernization step will support Egypt’s broader civil aviation development strategy, reinforcing its position as a regional hub for aviation and digital innovation.
SITA’s global network, which covers over 200 countries and territories, is expected to play a vital role in enabling EgyptAir to expand its regional and international reach.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in EgyptAir’s digital evolution and reaffirms SITA’s commitment to driving innovation in the global air transport industry.
