Sources at Nasser Hospital reported that three Palestinians were killed and 35 others injured by Israeli army gunfire as they attempted to reach the US-Israeli-backed aid centre in western Rafah, southern Gaza, according to Al Jazeera.
On Sunday, the Gaza Government Media Office also said 32 Palestinians were killed and 200 others injured when Israeli forces opened fire at a crowd near the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's distribution centres in Rafah and Wadi Gaza.
The office held the Israeli army fully responsible for these massacres, stating that “the so-called aid distribution centres have turned into fields of mass killing.”
The US-Israeli-backed aid distribution has been marred by chaos and bloodshed. Since 27 May, Israeli troops have fired at the starving crowds rushing to aid sites, killing at least 49 Palestinians and injuring 305 others in Rafah and Wadi Gaza.
Israel and the United States claim the new system is intended to prevent Hamas from siphoning off assistance.
However, Israel has not provided any evidence of systematic diversion, and the United Nations (UN) denies that such diversion has occurred.
UN agencies and major aid organizations have refused to participate in the new system.
They said it violates humanitarian principles by allowing Israel to control who receives aid and forcing people to relocate to designated distribution sites, further risking mass displacement across the territory.
Furthermore, five Palestinians were killed in ongoing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since Monday dawn, sources at Khan Younis' Nasser Hospital reported.
Meanwhile, sources at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza said a child was killed by Israeli drone fire in the Tel Al-Hawa neighbourhood, southwest of Gaza City.
Since 2 March, Israel has continued a systematic starvation policy against approximately 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza by blocking all humanitarian aid at the border crossings, pushing the strip's population to the brink of famine.
Since Israel started its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023, it has killed over 54,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
This bloody war has destroyed the majority of Gaza's infrastructure and displaced around 90 percent of its population.
