Abdelatty and Wadephul emphasised the need to uphold the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.

The E3 group - comprising Germany, France and the UK - serves as a key European bloc in global diplomacy, notably on Iran's nuclear programme. The bloc champions non-proliferation efforts, supports negotiations, and promotes Middle East stability.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the two sides also discussed regional developments, particularly the situation in Gaza, focusing on the efforts to resume the ceasefire, secure the release of captives and detainees, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.

During the call, the Egyptian FM stressed the urgency of halting Palestinian bloodshed and the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.

He emphasised that opening up a political horizon for a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian cause and ensuring the Palestinian people's legitimate rights are the cornerstone of regional peace and stability.

Abdelatty further underscored the Palestinians' right to self-determination and to establish their independent state over the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He reviewed Egypt's ongoing preparations for hosting the international conference on the early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, in cooperation with the UN, which would be held once a ceasefire agreement is reached.

In addition, the Egyptian FM commended German companies' role in supporting development projects in Egypt and praised Germany's support for Egypt within various European institutions.
